Executive Chauffeur Service London: Built Around the Business Diary
What Executive Chauffeur Hire Means in Practice
An executive chauffeur service (also called business chauffeur hire or an executive car service) is a pre-booked private hire car with a licensed, professionally dressed driver, arranged for business journeys rather than hailed on demand. The journey is quoted before it starts, the vehicle is chosen for the passenger, and the same operator takes responsibility from the first booking to the monthly invoice.
Barons Transport has run this kind of service in London since 2015. Every chauffeur drives under a Transport for London private hire licence, the regulator that sets vetting and vehicle standards for the capital, and has passed an enhanced DBS check through the Disclosure and Barring Service. Across the current client base the on-time record stands at 99.7%, and more than 100 London businesses now settle journeys on account.
The working fleet is Mercedes: the E-Class for everyday travel, the S-Class for longer runs and calls in transit, and the seven-seat V-Class for boards and delegations. Journeys cluster around the City, Canary Wharf, Mayfair and the six airports that serve London, with roadshows, board meetings and early flights making up most of the diary.
This page sets out the four journey types an executive booking covers, why companies keep the arrangement instead of an app, how group and delegation travel is coordinated, the areas and airports served, what the fixed fare includes, and the two ways to book. Eight questions clients ask before their first journey are answered at the end.

Where the Executive Booking Earns Its Keep
Standing commutes
Same slot, same chauffeurBooked once and repeated, so the driver learns your entrance, your route at that hour and how early you like to arrive. Nothing is re-entered each evening.Flights at both ends of the day
Timed to the aircraftDepartures before 06:00 and arrivals after midnight run against the live flight, not the printed schedule. Waiting at the airport is already priced in.Read moreBack-to-back meetings
Vehicle waits between stopsThe car stays outside while you're inside, so laptops, samples and documents remain in the cabin rather than in a reception cloakroom.Guests booked by the office
Confirmation goes to the bookerAssistants and travel teams book for directors and visiting executives. The passenger receives the chauffeur's details; the person who booked receives the confirmation.
Why Companies Keep the Arrangement
A chauffeur who knows the building
Regular clients are matched to a named driver rather than whoever is closest. So the person collecting you already knows the loading bay, the security desk and where the car can wait.A fare fixed before the engine starts
The quoted figure is the invoiced figure. There's no surge multiplier at 07:30, no meter running in traffic on the A40, and no different rate for a 04:00 departure.Confidentiality built into the training
Chauffeurs are briefed to treat calls, papers and destinations as unheard. Boardroom conversations that continue in the back seat stay there.A desk you can ring at 03:00
Dispatch is staffed around the clock, so a meeting that moves by an hour becomes a quick call, not a cancelled journey and a fresh booking.
Moving a Delegation on One Booking
Board visits
Seven seats, one carA V-Class keeps a visiting board together in one cabin, which matters when the meeting starts at a fixed hour and nobody should arrive separately.Client delegations
Several cars, one scheduleMultiple vehicles are dispatched against the agenda rather than against individual pickups, so the whole party reaches the venue as one.Inbound teams
Met inside arrivalsColleagues landing on the same flight are greeted in the terminal, luggage is loaded, and the group travels on together without waiting for separate cars.Full-day agendas
Chauffeur held all dayWhere the diary runs across several addresses, the vehicle stays with the party throughout instead of being rebooked between stops.Read more

Booking a One-Off Journey or Opening an Account
- 01
Enter the journey
Give the pickup address, destination, date and time. For flights, add the flight number: it's what dispatch tracks, not the time you typed. - 02
Pick the Mercedes
Choose the E-Class for city meetings, the S-Class for motorway runs and calls, or the V-Class when more than three people are travelling. - 03
Approve the quote
The figure shown already contains charges, parking and agreed waiting, so the amount invoiced matches the amount approved. - 04
Or set up an account
Accounts add consolidated monthly billing, a named contact at the desk and priority dispatch, so nobody submits an expense claim after a client lunch.
To open a corporate account, call +44 (0) 208 997 7103 and the desk will configure billing around your travel policy. Most first-time clients arrive with the same handful of questions, answered below.
What Our Clients Say
Questions Executives Ask Before Booking
Are Barons chauffeurs licensed and background checked?
Yes. Each chauffeur holds a Transport for London private hire licence and has cleared an enhanced DBS check before driving any client. Business dress is the standard on every journey, not an upgrade.
How is an executive chauffeur fare worked out?
Each route is quoted as one fixed figure that already contains the Congestion Charge, ULEZ, parking and agreed waiting. Time of day changes nothing: night, weekend and bank holiday journeys carry the same price as a Tuesday afternoon.
Can I have the same chauffeur every time?
Yes, and most account clients do. Drivers are assigned by relationship, not proximity, so a regular passenger keeps the chauffeur who already knows the building and the routine.
Which areas and airports does the service cover?
The City, Canary Wharf, Mayfair, Belgravia, Knightsbridge and all six London airports, plus Windsor, Oxford, Birmingham, Manchester and the Home Counties on a per-route quote. Journeys outside those areas can be priced on request.
Is a chauffeur better than a ride-hailing app for business travel?
A chauffeur wins on predictability. An app allocates the nearest driver at the nearest price; a chauffeur booking fixes the vehicle, the driver and the fare in advance. Apps suit short, unplanned hops where a 20-minute wait costs nothing.
Can my assistant book and receive the confirmation?
Yes. Enter the passenger's name and mobile number so the chauffeur can contact them directly, and the booking confirmation returns to the assistant or travel coordinator who made it.
What does a corporate account include?
Net-30 payment terms, one consolidated monthly invoice, a named account manager and priority dispatch. Accounts suit any company booking more than a handful of journeys a month or travel for several colleagues.
E-Class, S-Class or V-Class: which should I choose?
The E-Class for solo city journeys, the S-Class for long runs and confidential calls, and the V-Class for four to seven passengers. The S-Class adds sound insulation for calls; the V-Class carries seven with luggage.
The Executive Arrangement, in Brief
An executive chauffeur service puts a licensed, professionally dressed driver and a pre-booked private hire car at the disposal of one business diary, with the fare settled before departure. Barons has provided it in London since 2015 with vetted chauffeurs.
The booking covers standing commutes, flights at both ends of the day, back-to-back meetings and guests booked by the office. Companies keep the arrangement for the assigned chauffeur, the fare fixed in advance, trained confidentiality and a desk that answers at any hour. Delegations move on one booking across the financial districts, prime central London, six airports and out-of-town offices, with charges, waiting and Wi-Fi inside the fixed fare.
